I thought the names of kings in Game of Thrones were long.
But then I met "Darius the great, king of kings, king of countries containing all kinds of men, king in this great earth far and wide, by the favor of Ahura Mazda these are the countries which I seized outside of Persia; I ruled over them; they bore tribute to me; they did what was said to them by me; they held my law firmly; Media, Elam, Parthia, Aria, Bactria, Sogdia, Chorasmia, Drangiana, Arachosia, Sattagydia, Gandara, India, the haoma-drinking Scythians, the Scythians with pointed caps, Babylonia, Assyria, Arabia, Egypt, Armenia, Cappadocia, Lydia, the Greeks, the Scythians across the sea, Thrace, the petasos-wearing Greeks, the Libyans, the Nubians, the men of Maka and the Carians."

Everybody gangsta til the general cuts his own nose and ears off.

Ancient Persia does not get nearly enough credit as it deserves.

I love how some of the people he conquered were separated by the ones that drink this stuff, the hat wearing Greeks and the guys that wear the pointy hats. 🤣

but we all know simon is just darius in disguise...

how else would anyone rule over so many youtube channels?

Simon should start a channel where we can learn about all his new channels

“Whether men lie, or say true, it is one and the same object.”
Darius the Great

Darius is even mentioned in Daniel chapters 5 & 6 and also in the book of Ezra ch 5

Been waiting for this one. Now just need Darius III and Xerxes I

This story is near and dear to me, I lived in modern day Iran. Interesting af!

Darius was the ruler of thee greatest empire ever existed. 44% of the living population on earth lived under his rule. The infra structure he planned are still  the basics for now days. But history shows that every thing has its ups and downs.

Who here remembers Shane madej’s retelling of darius’ rise to power on ruining history?

Last time I was this early the Greeks were at war with the Trojans.

They where prolly like “dam Darius why your hand smell like that “

Drangiana is such a cool name. Feels like straight out of some fantasy world.
