Finn being a Jedi would have been an awesome  redemption story.

I agree.  The idea of a lowly stormtrooper actually defecting from the ranks, and becoming a hero of the story, was intriguing to me.  I thought it was a great idea for the story, and was anxious to see him progress.

Then the other 2 "movies" came out.

Finn had a potential rivalry with Kylo before Phasma was even introduced

I would've loved a story where the "chosen one" is someone who worked as a foot soldier for the enemy their entire life until he finally realized that what he's fighting for isn't order and peace across the galaxy, but rather subjugation and rule.

Heck, the title 'Traitor to the Empiry but the Hero for the New Republic" is a banger.

it's funny because disney had the message of "jedi can come from everywhere"
while also pulling the middle finger especially to finn on that regard lmao

I think the craziest part of this is that the first scenes in Force Awakens has Finn as the main focus. The fact that they suddenly pivoted to Rey despite the fact that we’ve been following Finn just makes no sense to me.

If Finn Turned,

He should have Kept the Stormtrooper armour,

But Make It Republic Coloured.

Lego did Finn better service in that summer film than Disney ever could

And to pour salt on the wound, it was even confirmed that he is canonically force sensitive, and that that's what he wanted to tell Rey during the whole Rise of Skywalker movie.

Episode X opens up:
“Somehow Phasma has returned…)

Finn could have been the canon Kyle Katarn a former stormtrooper turn Jedi but Disney screwed up so badly couldn’t gave him distant character arc but left with a token black character.

I'm still mad that they did my boy Finn dirty! They were hyping him up as the first black stormtrooper turned Jedi, just so they can have him scream Reeeeey throughout the entire trilogy! 😭

Plus the fact that they literally admitted that he had a connection to the force in the final film, and that snoke and kylo were sensing him all along meant that him not becoming a jedi was infinitely more disappointing.

I honestly would have went to the theatres if Finn was the protag cause he’s ten times more interesting than Rey.

I mean a Trooper becoming a Jedi?! That sounds like a story worth my money.

I was desperately hoping that Finn was going to be inspired by Kyle Katarn, since Kyle was a stormtrooper who became a Jedi. Such a wasted opportunity.

What I think would’ve been really cool is for the last Jedi they could’ve gone down the route where Ray becomes a fallen Jedi, putting Ray and Finn against each other and having Finn become a Jedi

I’d argue that Finn & Poe had more chemistry than any Sequel duo

I remember there was talk  before the second movie that Finn was even going to find Mace Windu’s purple lightsaber and use that.

A Stormtrooper Becoming A Jedi.
Had A GOOD POTENTIAL

Seeing a green lightsaber on the big screen is all I was asking for back then
