Guftugu with Jaideep Ahlawat on Rejection, Patience, & First Break in Bollywood  #ThursdayThrowback
.
Syed Mohammad Irfan in conversation with Jaideep Ahlawat. Jaideep talks about growing up in Kharakda village near Rohtak, Haryana. He studied in a government school till class 10. His parents were school teachers, and the family also did farming.

He shares how his first dream was to be in the Indian Army. He tried NDA and later CDS, cleared written exams, then failed SSB two or three times. Acting came later as relief. Theatre became the place where anger and restlessness found a direction.

He speaks about reading Premchand early, watching a Hindi adaptation of Oedipus, and meeting his first acting teacher, Sunil Dil Chitkara. He then trained at FTII and remembers the advice. Your Shiva is strong. Work on your Parvati.

He explains why he avoided the studio-to-studio audition routine, and how Gangs of Wasseypur 2012 became the turning point. He breaks down character building through psyche and unseen backstory, with Hathi Ram from Paatal Lok 2020 as a key example.
