Kpop albums, anime merch, plushies and action figures... today we're reacting to some of the CRAZIEST fan collections on the internet.

PLUS: I discuss my previous collections and why I no longer collect things on a large scale. We also talk about the difference between overconsumption and collecting (again) and the importance of being deliberate and careful with your collecting!

My sister would’ve killed for the my little pony collection growing up… but now that she’s older she gave them all to our old primary school so more kids can love them!

The line of collecting vs overconsumption is blurred in a lot of jfashion communities. Because a lot of dresses are made in super limited quantities, it really creates a scarcity mindset and leads to impulsively buying things the second they pop up on the secondhand market because you might never see it again. But it's so normalized in the community 😔

3:47 I’ve never seen a Mineta fan until now… I kinda thought they didn’t exist 😂

I don’t speak for everyone on booktok, but for me, I have a collection of about 80-100 books, but I love rereading things. I’d say my most read book I’ve read about 60 times

Books are my jam and I've been building my library for the last 30 years. I just need to find a house so I have a library room.

I collect dolls and the line between overconsumption and curating a collection is a fine line. Ironically the brands giving about 2 days notice before dropping an expensive limited doll is helpful for me personally because you end up being a lot pickier

Once on the news I saw a feature about a woman with a gigantic collection of cat figurines. And when I say gigantic, I mean it was so big she had an extra building on her property just to store them all. She had opened it up for the public as a kind of mini museum, so people could come and look at her huge collection. I thought that was so fun.

I love littlest pet shops. But I don’t over-consume them I ONLY pick the ones i really like. There’s specific ones I would never want in my collection and I don’t buy them. Its as simple as that

Edit: Yall want a pic of the collection?

As someone who is in a lot of fandoms i have some collections and i would maybe wanna expand them but i don't wanna be broke 😭

@Slyane_377 2 weeks ago

10:56 to be honest, I would rather have one big collection of random plushies having each a memory attached than to randomly impulse buy everything having a specific "thing" attached to it.

My plushies collection could be compared to "where do you have place to sleep in that??" But each of them is dearly loved and since I can chose, selectively chosen.

As an avid reader, my bookshelves look pretty similar. I have manga from when I started reading them more than 25 years ago, and most of them I re-read regularly. It's good to experience stories again with a fresh mind :) and some did not age well..

14:58 I have a Spider-Man bust on the very top of my shelf that watches over my whole apartment (it's a small studio, so you can truly see him wherever you are), but my shelf is located directly opposite to my bed, so every morning when I wake up to take my meds and I'm still half-asleep and everything is still pretty dark, I look up and there's a shrouded figure practically standing over the foot of my bed and yes, it's a jumpscare every single morning (for those who don't get it, the Spider-Man bust and the shelf morph into one giant shadowy figure at the foot of my bed when it's dark in my room)
