"To make your eyes look bigger, use a darker shade."
This time, I've tried the opposite approach to that common makeup rule.
Now that I'm in my 50s, I've become concerned about hollowness around my eyes, drooping eyelids, and dullness.
When I use dark eyeshadow or a dark shade on the crease, instead of making my eyes look more defined, it can actually make my crease disappear and my eyes appear smaller.
So, for my recent going-out makeup, instead of "adding shadow," I've been focusing on brightening the hollows.
I blend a matte pink beige that blends well with my skin from the outer corner of my eyelid towards my brow bone and temples. Then, I use a bright, almost white color on the inner part of my eyelid and crease.
Furthermore, instead of applying a thick, dark eyeliner, I use a light brown, focusing on the inner waterline and extending it slightly at the outer corner.
This creates a sense of breadth around the eyes, making them appear larger and clearer, brighter whites of the eyes, and naturally highlighting the lashes and eye frame.
"I want to make my eyes look younger, but heavy eye makeup doesn't suit me anymore."
"I'm worried about sunken eyes, dullness, and drooping eyelids."
"When I use heavy eyeshadow, my eyes actually look smaller."
This is eye makeup for women in their 50s that I highly recommend you try!
I'll introduce my recent going-out makeup, comparing the differences between my left and right eyes.
