This movie succeeded in what the Morbius movie failed to do. Make massive amounts of money off of it being a meme.

First we dumbs, then we ville. Let's dumbsville 🥀🥀

I got debilitatingly high when I saw this in theaters on a Thursday there was no one in the theater and when the villager started speaking English I genuinely thought I was going insane

Kojima was pretty ballsy to make the new MGS villain General Chungus but I think I’m starting to see the vision

i watched this movie twice in theaters, the first time alone ans the second time with the homies

the first time (alone) was one of the most awkward and miserable theater experiences of my life while the second (with the homies) was the most fun i had in a movie theater in YEARS

When Jack Black said "First we Chicken, then we Jockey. Let's Chicken Jockey" the theater immediately set on fire

Now wheres wheelman the motion picture.

15:59 "Makoto-san! This... is a crafting table! As they say." -Aigis

1:06 Why is that Jack Black impression on point tho? Lmao

FINALLY!!! HE POSTS THE MINECRAFT MOVIE REVIEW!!

They should've done a WHEELMAN movie instead smh

I wish the Minecraft movie got the same creative treatment as the LEGO Movie

Minecraft nerd here 🤓

Malgosha is seemingly vaguely based off a character from the (failed) spin-off Minecraft Legends (which was in development during the time of the movie’s production) called the Seer, however they have almost nothing to do with each other outside of their design.

And while a unique glowing blue cube hasn’t ever appeared in the franchise, the name “Orb of Dominance” originates from the (actually good) spin-off game Minecraft Dungeons, which, along with Legends, is part of Minecraft’s “lore”. However there it’s completely different and is instead a sentient entity that disguises itself as powerful artifact, which manipulates its wielder to do its bidding so that it can fulfill its own goals, and it’s not even blue. It also has brief appearance in Minecraft Legends, where the Seer is shown to already be in possession of it, and it does the laser-in-the-sky thing (which is the only thing it has in common with the movie outside of being a glowing cube).

While it isn’t the most groundbreaking, it would’ve been sort of interesting imo for the McGuffen of the movie to be revealed to be the true villain, but nahhhhh we’re stuck with a mid villian with a goofy ahh backstory. The name “Orb of Dominance” doesn’t even make sense with how it’s used in the movie, it doesn’t dominate anything until the end.

Also woodland mansions are literally in the base game. And apparently the zombies mauling the sheep was in response to the criticism of the first trailer.

As a Minecraft Dungeons fan, the Orb of Dominance was a maguffen that was used in a genuinely good story with a good game. This is why I have beef with the movie for a few reasons.

1. The narrator should be the one who tells you the origins since she was the first and last person to mention the orb's name. The fact they thought it'd be a good idea for multiple people to know its name or what it did ruins the story for me.

2. The piglins should have never been involved in the first place since the orb has never entered the nether or ever been encountered. This is where dungeons got it right as illagers would have most likely found it and used it for better and stronger reasons.

3. It doesn't take a toll or corrupt anyone who holds it. The arch illager in dungeons was controlled and gaslit by this thing like the one ring of Sauron. So when the characters just hold it like it's no big deal is utterly disappointing.

4. They failed to make the plot device relevant or important since even when the villain succeeds, all it did was make piglins immune to decay in the overworld. Thats my big gripe with the ending as it should have caused much more than make pigs unable to spoil.

On a side tangent, and to end this comment; the reasoning behind the plot on the villain's side is unbelievably stupid. They want to take the overworld for... Gold? What the fuck? That is the dumbest reasoning ever made for a movie based on obtaining a material thats only useful for making a clock, redstone rails, and yellow apples.

6:35 dumbsville face reveal

The minecraft movie feels like a parody of the script they were actually gonna use to make the movie but an intern spilled coffee on the real version so they just used this one instead.

11:27 best music i ever liset in my life 🥀🥀🔥

The Technoblade reference was kind of touching, in its own weird Jack Black way.

You described my feelings on this movie better than I EVER could

Was it a good movie? No
Was it an enjoyable experience that’s really at its best when seeing it with a bunch of your friends where none of you are under ANY false pretenses of it being a good movie or an accurate Minecraft adaptation? Absolutely

it is a great movie in the sense that it's "so bad it's good" and it doesn't take itself seriously whatsoever with how cheesy it was

when it came to the part where Steve and Garrett were falling, I audibly CACKLED in the theater BECAUSE OF WHAT YOU SAID AT 9:05, IN WHICH I THOUGHT THE SAME THING

I constantly said to myself "this is not a real movie" over and over again

it's AMAZING
