I was having lunch with my uncle in his local pub when I was 11 and after an hour or so Giant Haystacks walked in. I'd watched him on TV and was terrified to talk to him. Uncle Joe went over and after a couple of minutes Haystacks waved me over. He was nothing like he was on telly. Total gentleman, bought me a packet of crisps and we spoke about wrestling whilst he drank his pint. Few weeks later my uncle gave me atuographed wrestling posters he'd gave into the pub. A few months after that Haystacks passed away. RIP Giant Haystacks ❤
Great to see this rare interview, I loved watching Giant Haystacks on my tv as a kid. He far out classed the other two male presenters here who were pretty disrespectful unfortunately. He completely summed up how wrestling was during that era and spoke with much wisdom. A true British wrestling legend.
