Born in Tokyo in 1950. Graduated from Rikkyo University, Faculty of Law. Businessman, author, and poet. A researcher of life theory who practices and advocates a way of life centered on the burning of life. Lifetime member of the Mycological Society of Japan. Author of numerous books including "To Live," "My Friend," and "To the Origin." He also runs his own art business, presiding over the Shigyo Sosyu Collection and serving as the director of the Toshima Yasumasa Memorial Museum.

His food business, including mushroom-based foods, has maintained a fully integrated production and direct sales system for over 40 years through Japan Biological Science Co., Ltd. and Japan Mycological Research Institute Co., Ltd., which were founded in 1984.
