Melinda Cox, Business Partner Local Land Services with North Coast provided the final Carbon Farming Community of Practice presentation for 2021. Melinda has been working on a pilot public/private partnership project with Greening Australia. The goal was to get 20 landholders over an area of 500ha committed to participating in a carbon farming project using the environmental plantings method under the Emissions Reduction Fund (ERF). Melinda presented at the NRM Regions Australia National Carbon Farming workshop on this project in May - and on 9 December 2021 we checked in to hear how the pilot project had gone.
This presentation was part of the final Carbon Farming Community of Practice meeting for 2021. The Carbon Farming Community of Practice is a mixed group of NRM professionals from regional NRM organisations across Australia that come together to learn about and discuss issues relating to carbon farming. All regional NRM staff are welcome - from the carbon curious, to the carbon committed, the CoP provides a non-judgmental space to understand the emerging carbon market and how we can all contribute to optimising outcomes from carbon farming.
