I believe, Jesus was not a god. His followers created Jesus as a god.. The ideas of jesus were created 600 years before Jesus ,  by the Buddha. The Buddha did not have a mythical  creator god ,or personnal god. I am now very happy, at 83, to have evolved from religious dogma ,to a free thinking agnostic. I do not consider revelation as truth. Revelations are simply delusions, of the human mind. The gospels are simply propaganda , including non- historical as well as historical info. Therefore , the gospels cannot be trusted. I like the Spinoza god. That god is nature and the laws of nature. Some of the people who liked Spinoza's god were : Albert Schweitzer, Carl Sagan, Albert Einstein, and Tesla  . Therefore I like the non-judgemental god of Spinoza. I like a non-prrsonal  god ,non creator god of the universe, that is self creating. I believe there are an infinite number of universes. The so called Big Bang was simply of infinite number of creations. I have hope, not faith that this is true.

Keep in mind life expectancy at the time of Paul was about 30-35 years, and he was writing 30 years after the events. Some people did survive into their 50 & even 60s but that was rare and those who survived that long were in extremely decrepit physical and mental condition, which is easily understandable given the total lack of any practical medical aid available at that time. If Paul were writing 30 years after the event, he would have very sparse -- if any -- access to eye witnesses, and the lack of a reliable written record was also a significant handicap.  Today we know how unreliable  word of mouth transfer of information over so great a time barrier can be as exemplified by the game of telephone.

The people during the first century, no one would have known anyone named Jesus. That name didn't exist 2000 years ago.🤔

Extraordinary claims ,should have extraordinary evidence. There is some evidence that yeshua ben josef , called jesus ,might have existed,  but not the trinity, the divinity of Jesus. Jesus a human , not a god.

Should have made this comment earlier but I think (based on what I've read; I'm sure others have read more) that there are better ways to assess certain details than the criterion of embarrassment.  The John the Baptist story is very possibly true,  primarily because 1). we actually have a decent amount of evidence that he existed and 2. his followers have an oral tradition that Jesus existed AND  that he was initially associated with the movement but went rogue.  So probably independent verification.  The crucifixion account is more neutral.  If he ran afoul of the Roman state,  that would have been the likely outcome.  If I was writing a fictional account of a rabble rouser during that period, that would outweigh concerns about the shameful implications.  And yet if Jesus existed,  it's quite likely that's what would have happened.  So that detail would likely be noted whether it was fictional or real.

I beliece O am now able to articulate my umderstanding of the completed puzzel. I cannot pass that umderstanding to anyone, because like a waveform, understanding collapses to knowlege as soon as it leaves the waters it was created and entere the Material Realm.
  I have discoveree another Rosetta stone, and I recognized two of the three line the second zi saw ir. The 1st line I forged from within my own waters.. The second I recognized becaue I already understood Line One, And I was able to decifer line three because of you and your collegues. The otherwise nameless Christ (Messiah) of the majority of Paul's letters, in Philippians 2:9,10, was awarded the name "Jesus" (YHWH is salvation) by the LORD Himself  - not by the angelic dictate (Matthew 1:21 and Luke 1:31) of the later gospel narratives. Serious skeptics hold no such assumptions that there is good historical evidence for Jesus existing.  As one of them, I concede there may have been a figure that the Jesus accounts are based on.  What I am skeptical about, is how much of the material is accurate about his life and message.
