Alright?! 👋 The day has FINALLY come… I’ve seen a Hoopoe in the UK!
After several failed attempts over the years, I finally caught up with one of the birds I’ve wanted to see more than almost any other — and what a way to do it, on the cliffs of Dover.

But that wasn’t even the whole story.

The day starts at Dungeness where an incredible White-winged Tern has turned up before I meet up with Jim and Nancy and head to Elmley Nature Reserve,
Then news of the Hoopoe sends me across Kent for one last attempt. Surely this time…?!

A brilliant day of birding, some fantastic company, a proper rarity and finally ticking off a bird that has somehow managed to evade me for years.

Thanks SO much for watching! Please subscribe and check out my other birding adventures.
