In this episode of the Personality Couch Podcast, we (licensed clinical psychologists Doc Bok and Doc Fish) explore the 3 most unstable personality disorders: schizotypal, borderline, and paranoid. All 3 types are at risk of psychosis. We first discuss historical personality classifications of neurotic, psychotic, and borderline, highlighting that the borderline space between neurotic and psychotic is the most prone to instability. This borderline space is where schizotypal, borderline, and paranoid personalities sit. We discuss the risky traits of each personality, including cognitive slippage, emotional instability, and extreme rigidity. We also discuss some of our thoughts and experiences in diagnosing these rather tricky disorders!

Diagnosed as BPD mainly and schizotypal + schizoid as secondaries.

I love your voices! Very soothing:) I started by just watching the schizoid/avoidant episodes, but it really is soothing just playing a cozy game listening to this in the background. It's great because even if I don't have a specific PD, I can write down what I resonate with to reflect/journal about further later, or bring back into my therapy sessions!

Diagnosed as schizotypal, with cyclothymia. But I think the psychologist didn't notice the AuDHD features.

This is the best channel about Personality disorders i could find on Youtube, thank you very much doctors. I have been diagnosed Schizotypal disorder couple of months ago (F21 among Primary Psychotic disorders in ICD), you have helped me a lot in understanding this disease like no one else was. ♥

Thank you very much for this video! 😊 It is giving me some clarity on how the organisation is affecting someone's personality condition (or maybe the status someone's personality is operating in). I will probably revisit this video a couple of times because I find it a hard subject to fully grasp and understand.

But why does the separation process involve shame?? I don't get that, I do feel shame inside of me a lot but why would the concept of separation evoke feelings of shame? In the sense that I'm ashamed of myself I haven't been able to do that yet?
