Dishonored is my favorite Dietrich film. One that I also love is Angel (1937)

A global icon and a great actress of Hollywood's Golden Age.

I'm so glad you made a video of Marlene. One of my favorite stars

Devil is A Woman is such a stunning film. I've said it in other videos but the sequence in the silver forest where she picks up Antonio is spellbinding

This just might be my new favourite youtube channel. So good, thank you so much.

Omg I loved this video ! I find it quite hard to find classic Hollywood content on YouTube so tysm for this <3 my personal favourite Marlene Dietrich movie is The Scarlet Empress! She’s just so mesmerising and seductive in it <3

A splendid tribute to a unique and endlessly fascinating woman. My personal favourite? That baroque masterpiece, The Scarlet Empress. She never looked more beautiful and her acting is sensational. In addition, her supporting cast, lead by Louise Dresser, Sam Jaffe and the sullen, sulky Ruthelma Stevens, is astonishing

There will never be anyone like her...!!!

In 1959 Marlene Dietrich in her South American Tour performed a week of shows in Buenos Aires at the Teatro Ópera. One morning  Burt Barcharach was buying shoes at a shoe store with Marlene and there I saw Marlene touching her cheek with her finger.  I'll never forget this image because she reminded of a little girl introducing her finger in a pudding.  Her makeup was so perfect that her cheed went back to its original position. She was at that time 57 years old.  Her show included the songs in her album Dietrich in Rio, recorded in Rio de Janeiro at the Copacabana Palace Hotel and a few songs more. ¡Wonderful show!

Blue angel will ever be for me her best performance. And as she says in the end of A touch of evil,.. Adiós!

Just watched  "Touch of Evil".
She definitely stood out.
Quite a good film too.

You say it's amazing how much Hitch let Marlene get away with some control in 'Stage Fright...' but Hitch had a lot of respect for the German cinematic masters; and knowing how much Marlene had learnt from Von Sternberg, it's obvious to me that he would've let Marlene light herself.

I read Dietrichs biography, pretty amazing women, her shame at Nazism, her finding out a member of her family worked at a death camp, her dedication to her craft, and much more

Oh man, a wonderful compilation of Dietrich's films. One of my favorites is "Desire," along with "A Foreign Affair"
(I really love "Illusions," which she sang AND acted perfectly) and, of course, „witness of the prosecution“. Wilder and Dietrich should have worked together more often; Dietrich and Lubitsch would also have been absolutely stunning working together in more films. The collaboration between Sternberg and Dietrich is, of course, absolutely remarkable, but individual scenes/images stand out more to me than the entire films as a whole. And the narrator himself... from his voice, his way of expressing himself, his sarcasm, he could have been a grandson or great-grandson of Marlene/Marlenaaaa...😎😍😎😍 35:08

I found this a little late, but I really enjoyed it. I only wish you had mentioned Dietrich's drunk scene in the flophouse in Blonde Venus. It was a spectacular piece of acting. She was amazing in that film; it would definitely be in my top ten of her performances!

Your video is wonderful! Congrats 🌠 subscribed!

Thanks for this video. You did surprise me with your choices, especially including Dishonored (the lesser analyzed von Sternberg – Dietrich film) and Judgment at Nuremberg (where MD had not so much screen time) to your top 10. You obviously have read the MD  biography by Donald Spoto... Dietrich did not have a face lift, not before or after Judgement at Nuremberg.

Great video, the way you speak of her was very passionate I enjoyed it very much- please do Garbo, Davis, Gish, Taylor....or just do them all well researched, you made me feel guilty for not having seen her films

thank you

No Desire? No Angel??
Actually i love your top ten of the ultimate golden age femme fatale.
Dietrich's incomparable beauty,  talent, strength & humanity are legendary .
❤🎉😊
