I love this. The level of thought and intention behind making sure we had the best listening experience is exactly what separates Michael and his team from everyone else.

I had the great fortune of attending one of Brad Sundberg's In the Studio sessions in LA back in 2017.  It was one of the best events I've ever attended.  So informative and fun!  I would love to attend the upcoming one at the Hit Factory.  I never got to see Michael live so for all you fans this is one of the best events to learn so much more about him.    Thanks, Brad, for keeping Michael's memory alive and so vibrant!

Hey Brad!!! Thank you so much for doing this. I find it all VERY fascinating. CDs were already the primary format by the time I was born, so discovering the differences between modern remasters and original vinyl pressings has been a game changer for me over the last few years. In almost every instance I've encountered thus far, original pressings stand tall according to my ears. Seemingly helped by the fact that it's a direct reflection of the artist, producer and engineer's intent. Rediscovering music I've only ever experienced through remastered CDs has been a thrilling journey.

It's one thing for us listeners to be able to weigh in on the matter, but hearing impressions directly from someone who was THERE and very much apart of it is a whole other thing. Would love to see/hear many more installments of this series in the future. With the rumor of a new MO-FI release of the History album on the way (potentially this year), It'd be interesting to hear your take on that, versus yours and Bruce's original. Thanks so much for doing this, and have a blessed weekend 🙏

MJ and Bruce together were on another level. We were lucky to witness that level of perfection. Nobody will match that.

Oh I love this concept! So much fun to hear about the differences and proces! 🎼🎵 Interesting!

The Way You Make Me Feel is my favorite MJ song from Bad.

Yooo I just listened to the different versions you mentioned and it’s clear as day!! Thank you for this.

Oh, the Disneyland 70 shirt is NICE!

LOVE this! I have an original pressing of Bad, HIStory on vinyl (the original black vinyl pressing, NOT the picture disc) and someone also gifted Ones to me. I rarely ever listen to the "hits" section of HIStory because I love the new songs so much on that album. Plus I have the other full albums, so I always listen to those songs on those albums. I really never think to listen to "The Way You Make Me Feel" from my HIStory LP but I'm sure going to now. Thanks Brad!

Why isn't the estate collaborating with as many as original production team when they release things, at least the older stuff. But everything quite honestly so they could use their own input to collab, with whoever else is doing a remastering or the remixing or whatever that they are doing. They should be collaborating with as many original team members as possible for the highest quality sound as possible. ❤

Wow new to your page! This information is very educational as a big younger MJ fan. Very informative Sir thank you

Love the story Brad! I’m planning on coming to the hit factory seminar in march. I’m super duper excited about it! I cannot wait 😊

and that's why an unopened vinyl set of history costs over $1k on eBay 😭

Thank you for this, Brad! Found it very insightful and super interesting. Would love to see more of similar stuff like this.
You might have to explain the difference between remixing and remastering again though for us non-technical folks 😅 Would also be great to see you do live mixing of a song/breaking down multitracks akin to the Mixing event.

Towards the end when you spoke about newer engineers increasing higher frequencies I immediately thought about the remaster of Say Say Say Radio Edit from 2015. Both Michael and McCartney sound horribly high pitched and just off from the original, it’s also muddy as you describe. Fascinating stuff!

Great detailed Story Bruce!!!!!
Around 2001 music industry clearly tended to opt for simpler rythms which were - compared to the voice - more in the foreground. Maybe this played a role at the Number Ones-Mixes as well?

I still have my original copy of the HIStory album on CD from 1995.

It's Brad! AUTO SUB!

thanks for this video and your insights! being a tech nerd myself, I'd be very interested in more details about how you and Bruce eq'ed and compressed and used effects on MJs records!

I still have my BAD cassette tape that I got for my 14th birthday in 1987 (I am in Germany, I wonder if that cassette would have been made in Germany or imported? I need to take a look 🧐). Too scared to put it in a cassette player after all these years (haven´t used the cassette in ages) 😱😅

My "original" HIStory CD (bought in 1995 in Germany) is with my ex boyfriend 😭 (and I will not go back to retrieve it lol)

Thank you for all your work and love for Michael, Mr. Sundberg, love from Germany 🌻

I wish they would bring back the Diamond Collection. I missed out the first time 😢
