Hermann Hesse, winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature, is one of the most profound and beloved voices of the twentieth century. But behind the author of masterpieces such as Siddhartha, Steppenwolf, and The Glass Bead Game lies a tormented man whose existence was marked by crises, escapes, and extraordinary inner rebirths.
In this documentary, we retrace the writer's entire life, from his childhood in a missionary family in the Black Forest to his final years in Switzerland, in the hills of Montagnola. A ten-part story that follows his journey step by step: the rebellion against the Maulbronn Seminary, his youthful suicide attempt, his apprenticeship and his first literary glory, his journey to the East in search of himself, his collapse during the First World War, and his decisive encounter with Carl Gustav Jung's psychoanalysis.
We explore the birth of his most famous works, the profound meaning of his spiritual quest, and his courageous defense of culture during the dark years of National Socialism. A story of suffering and beauty, of solitude and reconciliation, which helps us understand not only a great author, but also the restless soul of modern man.
A biographical and cultural journey designed for those who love literature, history, and the great figures who shaped twentieth-century thought.

Ora lo so.
Vabbè dai tutti i suoi libri grazie Herman 💓
Ero giovane.
