The Furka Pass is a high mountain pass in the Swiss Alps connecting Gletsch, Valais with Realp, Uri. Situated at an elevation of 2,429 meters above sea level, it is one of the highest paved roads in Europe. The pass is renowned for its dramatic panoramic views, challenging hairpin turns, and its close proximity to the Rhone Glacier. It gained international fame after being featured in the 1964 James Bond film Goldfinger. Due to heavy snowfall, the pass is typically closed during the winter months, making it a popular destination for cyclists and driving enthusiasts from late spring to autumn.
