I’ve been listening to Mastodon since 2004. In my opinion they’re the greatest metal band ever.

Favourite band of all time and they have smashed it again. I love your reactions and always do a couple of rewatches of your Mastodon stuff! Looking forward to
Parts 3 and 4!!

Love this album so much. I got pretty choked up on the first listen, some of the lyrics are really heavy. So happy they knocked it out of the park.

Mastodon has had 30 years of refining their sound and bringing a new member in was always going to be a challenge, but in that context they have still produced a masterpiece with this album, far exceeded my expectations! By far one of my favorite bands! great reaction! 🤘

Brilliant album, AOTY, insane replay value, no skips, high quality from start to finish, flows perfectly and doesn't exhaust despite a rather long playtime, the pinnacle of their discography as far as I'm concerned!!

This album is full of creative energy and fully flushed out concepts! I love it!

Jim, me ol' mucker ! I anticipated your listening experience almost as much as I anticipated the album release.

Well, here i am in yet another listening party with Marrow Deep and a streamer. This one has been my favourite so far. This guy is great. And the album is ridiculous. This is one hell of a hard working band.

Brann does most of the pure clean singing. Troy yells like captain Ahab. And Brent used to do the whole drunk Ozzy thing.

Loved your reaction Jim, you are in for some more sonic goodness with sides 3 and 4!

Great reaction Jim 👍🏻
This album is up there with their big 3. Unbelievable - heavy, melodic, gritty. It’s got a bit of a Remission vibe and a mix of the others for me.

Love the album! Although not quite at the level of Crack the Skye or Blood Mountain for me. Like the other great prog acts, takes a while to really absorb and appreciate all the songs but after repeated listens, I’m hooked. An amazing journey through heavy riffs, wicked solos, emotional vocals and psychedelic bliss.

As you may know, Your Ghost Again is about Brent. The band finding it strange and challenging being back in the recording studio without him. Brann in particular said he had visions of Brent in the corner of his eye.

By the way, here’s the list of guest appearances on the album:

Josh Homme (Queens of the Stone Age) on "Snakes for Dinner"…outro vocals

Geezer Butler (Black Sabbath) on "The Vanishing"…intro bass

Joe Duplantier (Gojira) on "The Vanishing"

Randy Blythe (Lamb of God) on "A Vampire's Demeanor"

Neil Fallon (Clutch)

Nate Newton (Converge)

Ben Koller (Converge)

Slightly impressive!😊

How are you able to do this without getting copyright strikes? I'm thrilled you are able to do it though. Mastodon is my favorite band and I love hearing other people's opinion on them.

@Zappaisgod4983 3 weeks ago

Quite the grower, this album. Wasn't too keen on first listen, felt a bit disjointed and meandering but i'm loving it now.

CARDIACS _ SING TO GOD!!! Come on Jim, enrich your life and give it a go!
