In this video, we investigate how difficulty really works in games — through game design, balance, player progression, and enemy AI.

Using Resident Evil, Resident Evil 2, Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast, and Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order as case studies, we’ll try to understand why some games maintain pressure all the way to the end, while others gradually stop demanding the very skills they taught the player.

And most importantly: what are we actually choosing when we select “Easy,” “Normal,” or “Hard” before the game even begins?
