The opposition was stopped from reaching Jantar Mantar. Earlier, the Election Commission had also become inaccessible. Rajghat became the fallback — a symbolic location with Gandhi’s legacy at its centre.

The central allegation driving the mobilisation is voter suppression and alleged manipulation of electoral rolls. Opposition workers say the issue is bigger than one election — it is about the credibility of democracy itself.

Anger is no longer confined to party leaders. Workers and voters describe alleged deletions, documentation problems and police action. These remain political allegations, but they are clearly fuelling the mobilisation.
