After breast augmentation, two things matter most: the shape of the breast and the way it feels. So when a new implant arrives that is built specifically around that feel, can it really feel like your own breast?
In this video, I introduce Bounce, the newly launched implant, and explain exactly where it comes from. It is the BellaGel implant from Hans Biomed coming back under a new name, after the business suspension and production halt the MFDS ordered in the second half of 2020, the lifting of that suspension in 2023, and three more years before it launched again. From what I understand, the head office handling the material went back through the MFDS with same-class test data to get approval again, and the shell was made with far less variation in surface roughness, clustered closer to the average instead of running jagged. I also walk through the real secret behind a soft implant: the combination of shell and gel. A shell has to be thick and sturdy enough not to rupture easily, yet the gel has to stay soft enough to feel natural, which is why most smooth implants are made full-fill to avoid rippling, and why a thin, healthy capsule keeps the breast soft after surgery.
Finally, I share my honest clinical view. When I handled the implant myself I could not feel a dramatic difference, but the soft feel is similar to the old BellaGel, and I am still following my BellaGel patients with ultrasound exams, who are doing well with soft breasts and no major complications. How safe Bounce is and how good the results turn out will still need more time. My own rule is simple: use the implant closest to the feel of your own breast, with a safe implant as the precondition, and never force yourself into surgery while you feel uneasy.
