I wonder how long ago this was recorded? Jon Parshall's "1942: The Crux of War" came out last week.

I love listening to these guys.  Great job everyone.

Jon gets nothing but sympathy from me when it comes to trying to get those end notes together. In fact, I noticed that there are points in the end notes for 1942 where the get out of line for a bit (i.e., the citing of 121 on the text page is mislabeled as 122 when you look for it in the end notes).  Minor stuff that isn't hard to figure out, eventually rectifies itself, and it is certainly understandable when you consider that any change can throw the whole thing off.

Based on the definition of 'Decisive Battle' that the speakers arrived at, I would say the Decisive Battle was dropping the atomic bombs. Until then we were going to have to invade with millions of soldiers and Japan was going to resist with every person in Japan. Millions more dead and another year(?) of war. Three days of atomic attack decided that Japan would surrender.
