This video aged so beautifully I could cry. Wait no I don’t have a choice. I’m gonna cry regardless.

I’m on my hands and knees begging you to make a new video talking about the twisted sword with the knowledge we have from chapter 5.

I need more people talking about the twisted sword. It’s clearly such an incredibly important item yet no one acknowledges it.

I need someone to get the fandom thinking about it. And YOU clearly know ball!

you’re gonna have to be a lvl20 bed inspector to get the good ending

can't wait until we craft the sword and Malius says: "please understand that I only repaired it so that you never use it"

'Maybe things just got a little twisted right now'.

I think the thing about the Twisted Sword is that it will be a weapon that can be brought into, and used to great effect, in the Light World. If we look at the Sword Route, the climax of that path is you descending into a lower level of reality, the game world, to collect an item that only exists on that level. You then carry it to a higher reality, and can use it against the Knight. I think the same applies to the Twisted Sword. You descend into a lower reality, a Dark World, and emerge with an item from that reality that you can use against an otherwise nigh-unbeatable foe.

Normal route: Dark
Weird route: Darker
Sword route: Yet darker

Chapter 5 makes this sound so much more believable, especially with the weird route.

I like how every theory video references ROOTS theory now

Chapter 5 released, and with how things are turning out, I think it is safe to assume that the TwistedSword might indeed be a third path.

a room inbetween
there is a room inbetween

This is actually the coolest theory I’ve heard in a long time. And it makes so much sense. The idea of having a “normal” ending which resolves the main plot, “weird route” ending which is about freedom and having Noelle become the playable character and the “weirder route” of completely breaking the game, uncovering the lore behind the “narrator” of the game  and learning of Kris’ past might meet Toby’s dream ending.

Hats off to you sir. My perception of what is possible in the game has truely expanded.

While it would be odd to be able to unequip the thorn ring after ch 4. I think a reveal that the trance effect of the thorn ring is entirely psychological and that it really is just a normal thorn in the light world and not some extra-worldly hypnosis device would be just as compelling. Completely shattering Noelle's belief that the events of ch 2 were a dream would be enough to have an effect on her psyche.

Just a thought but the ring could just be a tool to start the process, and once it's used, it's ....all used up....might as well make it into a sword

I've had a theory that the Aborted Weird Route is sort of an extended "shock therapy" session for Kris about their implied past violent tendencies and traumas; getting the Pure Crystal at minimum requires fighting Spamton (who is a dark reflection of Kris), The Knight (likely Dess, whose disappearance Kris likely had a hand in), and unless you're a No-Hit-Runner, ERAM to get the Mantle (directly encourages using violence as a test of their worthiness to have the Mantle, possibly a dark mirror of Susie & Gerson's dynamic). Assuming Trance Down has the opposite effect the ThornRing has on Noelle (giving Kris more autonomy), it could show to them that they don't necessarily have to fear or be ashamed of their past, and that they can use it for the benefit of their friends and the world, or at minimum make peace with it.

Someone once suggested that the whole reason that there are three save files means that there are three routes in the game that you have to complete before you can reach the actual, true ending

Okay this video aged like a FINE WINE with the knowledge we have in Chapter 5...you can't get the last shadow crystal without going into the dark world in Ch.5....which means you can't go the full weird route. So we have to as players do this weird thing where we get the Thorn Ring by going through the weird route initially...but then also abort the weird route so we can actually get all 5 shadow crystals, and have all the necessary ingredients to actually make that twisted sword....hope you are making a new video about this!!

Shorting this theory like the housing market in 2007.

Twisted Sword as a name is interesting, with the routes in mind.

You bend hard right into "the bad ending" but then bend back into "the good one".

The sword would be symbolic of that, made from warped mindset.

An aborted weird route is something in between a normal route and a weird route. I know it's stupid but it kinda fits into the recent stuff about Gaster being connected to things "in between", hence why Gaster would be interested in an aborted weird route outcome :)
