She invited her family to a birthday celebration in Gwalior. But according to investigators, the celebration was allegedly part of an alibi for something far more sinister happening nearly 130 kilometers away.
On June 24, 2025, 60-year-old Sushila Devi was found murdered inside her home in Kumharia village near Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh. At first, investigators suspected a robbery gone wrong. Jewelry and cash were missing, and the crime scene appeared to point toward a burglary.
But the investigation soon took a completely different direction.
Police alleged that Sushila's daughter-in-law, Pooja Jatav, had planned the murder with the help of her sister and her sister's boyfriend. Investigators said the motive was connected to a dispute over family property, while the birthday gathering in Gwalior allegedly helped keep Pooja's family members away from the crime scene.
As investigators dug deeper, they also uncovered allegations surrounding Pooja's past — including an earlier attempted murder case involving her first husband and a complicated relationship with the Rajput family.
What began as a suspected robbery eventually became a case involving murder, deception, family conflict, property, and an alleged attempt to create an alibi.
This is the Pooja Jatav case, explained from the beginning.
Watch until the end to see how investigators allegedly connected the clues and uncovered the conspiracy.
