I'll be honest, I think you'll find ChatGPT's summary of Hybrid disappointing. I've seen it trying to make a d&d spell-list, it just starts making up spells halfway and call it a day.

apparently some peopel managed to endure the insanity of Hybrid to truely try and figure out what was in here.. and came out with an overcomplicated powerscaling system (the DP that gets referenced over and over) that TRIES to be a game, but fails as its all eaten by the powerscaling system. Which would explain why there is all those references to established franchises.

Overall it may be less of a shitpost and more the rambling of a madman that was really, REALLY obsessed by turnign powerscaling into raw math.

Hybrid made Airier go through all five stages of grief several times over. He flipped a lot between denial and bargaining.

...So KamSandwich's newest video, "The WORST card game ideas", might somehow be even more shocking. You NEED to watch it. I am so sorry.

Please do "The WORST Card Game Ideas" next, also by KamSandwich. Please, please, please, I'm begging you.

“Iowa and Idaho are close enough that it doesn’t matter”

My guy…, they’re halfway across the country from each other

Hybrid's author feels like a deranged mathematician who loves TTRPGs for the calculations and little else

8:10 Dr. Laura was a long-forgotten advice talk show host who lost her career from saying the n-word 11 times in one call. Dr. Laura became a running joke on Kam’s channel after he reviewed The Dr. Laura Game in his worst board game tie-ins video (which I would recommend).

FATAL is like Joker 2. It's less a functional piece of media, more of an act of spite to those who would be interested in such a thing in the first place.

If I were to give an analogy for the those rpgs, Fatal is the ugly Car wreck of an rpg that leaves you with horrible severe injury, but you eventually learn to laugh at maybe, RHW is the car crash that leaves you with horrific maiming injuries and you never fully recover from, and the last one is the car crash leaves you dead or in a brain damaged coma state.

What I gathered from the comments of the source video:

Hybrid is... well, two things.

1) an inverted powerscaling tool. You start off with a powerlevel, and you derive all stats from it. Combat is the comparison of two character's stats. All the "rules" are edge cases the author is trying to account for when comparing their favorite characters from fiction.

2) A obvious cry for help for someone who should have been medicated and committed back in 1996, but had been allowed to get worse all the way until 2022, when they stopped posting completely.

Yes, 2022. The dude kept working on Hybrid, claiming it's powerscaling could be used for real life people.

I hope they found help, or peace.

Hybrid: the Timecube of TTRPGs

There is a reason I mentioned on the original video that HYBRID reminds me of the indecipherable ramblings of an actual paranoid schizophrenic I met before...
...and at a different site, I compared it to Time Cube...

56:53 hes not saying this Isnt insane rmabling, hes saying it IS because its too real of a rambling. You cant fake something like this.

Racial Holy War sounds like a hilarious premise for a comedy film. The whole thing sounds like something Monty Python would have done.

Alternatively, it'd be hilarious to flip the game on it's head and make every other ethnicity playable by the PCs, while boosting the "Warriors" numbers to give some sort of difficulty while plowing through them like they're slime enemies in an MMO.

29:12 just FYI you’re confusing Ulysses (an entirely comprehensible if very dense and strange story which deliberately shifts genres every chapter) and Finnigan’s Wake (a stream of consciousness narrative in highly phonetic English which may or may not begin at the beginning may or may not loop around at the end and may feature between two and four main characters depending upon who you are)

I know this episode is mostly not about Fatal, but something interesting about Fatal is that I'm pretty sure that you can roll up a character who is already dead. Not a ghost, just an unplayable dead character. Good ending TBH

Might I point out that the box art for RHW still says "from the director of A Nightmare on Elm Street and Scream," meaning they're too lazy to avoid being sued for either claiming that their cult made those movies or Wes Craven made this game?

I find playing TTRPG's a bit stressful, but I actually love reading interesting and strange things, so even though I could never comprehend or play it, I feel like Hybrid would be my favorite TTRPG if I got around to reading it.

34:30 There's an idiom in Russian (and probably other languages, but i only know English and Russian so whatever) that goes something like "To divide a hide of a bear you're yet to kill" (implying the hide is being divided by and between the people who are planning to hunt down the bear)
