I went to San Diego and trained at Chiba Sensei's dojo in the mid 90's and was shocked to see Chiba Sensei himself show up and teach the afternoon class when there were just a handful of us on the mat , needless to say being uke for Chiba sensei completely changed the way I saw Aikido training and I'm incredibly thankful for the time I spent there, it was an amazing experience.

It’s moving to recognize so deeply what we share in your few simple words, thank you.

Adoro ouvir histórias desses pioneiros do Aikido. Realmente eram grandiosos e merecem todo o nosso respeito. Oss

Chiba Sensei had several years here in the UK in I believe the 1970s before eventually going to San Diego in 81. The years here were notoriously hard, unforgiving training.

I was already Nidan by the time I met my true instructor, who was taught by Chiba during this time and his practice was extraordinarily hard. I really had to work hard and re-learn.

I wrote to Chiba Sensei in the early 90s to ask if I could travel to SanDiego and train as Uchi Deshi but the training programme had ended by then.

I would have done anything to train with him, just once.

Excelente trabalho!

Thank you for sharing.

excelente

My mum has been taught by him three times and she said she was scared of him

Excelente Trabalho

have you done judo/bjj/wrestling for reference?

Ótimos ensinamentos do Park sensei.

Hello, i just wanted to ask, what all of you think about tendoryu aikido? and whats the difference between aikikai and tandoryu aikido? thank you

So the Japanese students do not need all of these elements to understand  Aikido. Have you trained in Japan recently?

This is a video no radio where is the video? Only bla bla bla bla bla......

It's very sad so many people learned C's mistaken interpretation of aikido. Mind you, many have mistaken interpretations. It's just that C took his misinterpretation to a wholly evil level. It's profoundly sad that he messed with people's emotions, causing them injury and false expectations of aikido as a martial art and not primarily a spiritual discipline of the heart. Those who survived him, if they are honest, can say they retained their heart in spite of C doing everything he could to crush it.

Aikido is a martial art or what now ? A dance?  These days you get attacked by knife wielding physcos  and with guns .. so train for martial applications not namby pamby horses ***t...
