Penn State Health Golisano Children’s Hospital is advancing childhood cancer research and care that changes lives for patients like Daisy Meier and Asher Moe.
Diagnosed with lymphoblastic leukemia at 13, Daisy received advanced cancer care while Four Diamonds ensured her family never saw a bill. Today, she is a cancer survivor who uses her voice to inspire others.
After Asher was diagnosed with Stage IV neuroblastoma, he enrolled in three innovative clinical trials. Today, he is in remission after responding to treatment through one of those trials. Along with chemotherapy, radiation and surgery, Asher received whole-health support from the Pediatric Integrative Oncology Program, led by Dr. Erin Banashefski. With support from Four Diamonds, the program provides services such as massage therapy, stress and pain management, and nutrition support.
Their stories show how childhood cancer research and whole-health care can make a difference for children and their families.
