THE BASIN is where the water finally comes to rest — a plaza of mirror-flat reflecting pools set into pale off-white stone, high above a sea of clouds, framed above and to the sides by massive cantilevered beams. Beyond the still water a tall monolith rises, its face split by two thin violet light-slits. A vast architectural ambient techno soundscape for focus, coding and deep work: still, glassy, spacious.

After cascading down the terraces and looping on without end, the water stops here and lies flat enough to hold the whole sky and the whole structure at once. The basins double as wetland — low reeds, a grey heron, a few white birds — and one lone figure stands far off at the water's edge. This is the room you reach when the movement stops and you finally see the shape of the work.
