“People give more importance to material things, it all seems to be a power game, while people ought be making the most of every moment as time is fleeting.” -Rekha

I hate colorism so much! So many women are put down and get disrespected even by their own people for being darker. I am not even that dark but I experienced it too… How can people do this to each other. All those years wasted by hating myself when looking in the mirror

How could someone,  anyone, call her ugly? She is absolutely stunning and beautiful.

Indian women are so gorgeous in general

The MOST gorgeous  Bollywood actress! She looks like a doll, not ugly at all. Indian women are some of the most gorgeous women in the world, dark skin, hair and all.
Hate how colonialism made colorism and racism a thing.

I've never heard of her before. I'm not terribly familiar with Bollywood. But she is absolutely stunning. She may very well be one of the most beautiful women I've ever seen. She seems very kind and intelligent as well. Love her spirituality

The moment she was like"well not to a woman" "haha why not" "well ok" that part had me laughing both women have such bright personalities

It is truly sad and pathetic the way society bullies women into harming themselves.💔

She has been in film industry since 1969 till date and changed her looks reinvented herself over and over again . Amazing.

Please also note that in her time, editing, filters and plastic surgeries/procedures were not really a thing at all. All the pics and videos you see of her are actually her!

Rekha was my mom‘s favorite actress growing up. Apparently she was very popular in Africa in the 80s. She’s gorgeous.

A diva, a true star of bollywood. A beautiful, gifted & talented woman. I think Rekha suffered a lot because of her childhood, especially her issues with her dad. She is a good dancer too. Thanks for sharing Karine. Applause & flowers for Rekha ji. 👏 💐 🌹.

I'm South Asian and yes weight was always a huge deal there. Being too skinny or chubby was  seen as a bad thing, especially for girls.  Back in the day there was no fast food in these countries so obesity was uncommon. Now in Bollywood the standard is fit, gym bodies, just like it is in most countries. And fair skin has always been the beauty standard there, and darker skinned girls barely get a chance in Bollywood, no matter how beautiful they are. It's horrible. Rekha actually is the average skin tone for a South Asian but apparently looking Indian is bad in Bollywood. She was an unstoppable force and is an icon. You cannot keep her off the screen, and cannot take your eyes off her. There will never be another like her. Literal queen

16:04 what gets me most is when the people who are upholding the beauty standards don’t even meet those standards themselves. Like how are you gatekeeping a club your not even a part of?!

I glad you did Rekha because she's such a beautiful person. I watched most of her movies since I was young, and just fell in awe of her as an Actress. Hearing her interviews again and such made me realize then that a strong woman like Rekha isn't afraid to admit she isn't perfect.

Rekha looks very similar to Aishwarya Rai another Bollywood actress both beautiful women. Simi Garewal is a great interviewer you are spot on there Karine 😊

One of my favorite movies is Kama Sutra Relha played Rasa Deva and she was so beautiful and graceful in the film.

What a gorgeous woman.❤❤❤

Rekha is diva doooown

Rekhaji is a living Goddess. Not only extremely beautiful, but very intelligent, talented, and well spoken. A lady who is total class and a perfect role model for women of all ages. Her wisdom is something only time can teach, and she has made so much of that time.
