If Bergamo isn't on your Italy radar yet, it needs to be. We spent one day exploring the Città Alta — Bergamo's stunning walled upper city — and it was one of our favorite stops on our entire week-long trip through Italy.

We walked through the historic Porta San Giacomo, enjoyed time at Piazza Vecchia, grabbed lunch at Circolino with local dishes like casoncelli alla bergamasca and bocconcini di monza, hopped on the funicular to the very top, and ended the night with dinner at Ristorante Pizzeria San Vigilio. Safe to say we ate well this day 🙂‍↕️
