While going through old boxes, I recently rediscovered this original VHS tape containing the complete Mr. Olympia 1991 event. The tape has been preserved for years and captures the full competition as it was originally recorded and broadcast. I decided to digitize and share it online so this important moment in bodybuilding history can remain accessible to fans, historians, and new generations alike.
The 1991 Mr. Olympia is one of the most talked-about editions of the contest.
It marked the eighth and final Mr. Olympia title for Lee Haney, who retired after this victory, ending one of the most dominant reigns in bodybuilding history.
The event is also remembered for the emergence of a new era, with Dorian Yates placing second and introducing a heavier, more massive physique that would soon redefine the sport.
Because of this transition, the 1991 Olympia remains a pivotal and often debated moment in professional bodybuilding. It was Haney's eighth Mr. Olympia win at the time setting the record for most Mr. Olympia wins until Ronnie Coleman tied his record in 2005. Haney retired afterwards at 31.
