Love these videos! Thanks so much for posting.

Dear Rabbi Morris, Thank you very much for your explanation about 'Minhag'. It was very clear and very helpful. I enjoyed it very much, especially the halakhic explanations. Your talk brought back memories of moments I spent in the Bevis Marks synagogue.

I would like your source for the claim that Bendigamos is a very recent text.

A couple of things:
-I don't know why you talk about Castile and Catalonia but ignore Portugal, where most of our ancestors were actually from? And those who had come to Portugal in 1492 were mostly from Castile, so those are the two relevant regions. The elders among the founders of our communities, particularly those in Italy, were still raised openly Jewish before 1497, it is not true that nobody knew anything.
-Only in Rome there was a Catalonian congregation. Nowhere else in Italy. The vast majority of the Sepharadim, particularly in Livorno and Venice, were from Portugal. We were always known as Portuguese, also in Italy. The modern terms "S&P" etc were unknown until recently. Also in London the records speak of Portuguese Jews. Catalonia plays almost no role in our history.
