You can get the written recipe here: https://rainbowplantlife.com/lentil-soup/ Don’t forget to serve with some good crusty sourdough 😉

I do not claim to be the world's greatest cook, but I have been cooking for a long time, and I was surprised by how much I learned from this video, such as your tip on tying the bay leaves and thyme together with twine to make it easy to pull them out later.  You also have a super approachable and non-intimidating delivery, such as including the difficulty you had with the yogurt.  Super well done!

This is actually the same recipe that my grandma thaught me (I'm from Istanbul), only difference we don't use  preserved lemon we use "normal" lemon. As a huge lemon lover, I can't wait to try this soup with preserved lemon, looks fantastic, thank you🙏🍋

So happy to have a lentil soup recipe with no tomatoes! Can't wait to try this ❤

Yes on adding nutritional yeast to enhance the flavors even more! It adds depth to almost any dish.

Preserved lemons are a perfect "secret" ingredient for lots of dishes. I like chopping up the insides and fold it into yogurt to go on top of...anything.

Every video I wish Nisha was my neighbor so I could volunteer to taste test everything. 😂 I can't wait to make this myself!

i like that. actual useful recipe a normal person can use every day. its something i noticed and dislike about most cooking videos is the fact that... yes it prob tastes awesome... but you need like 50 different ingredients, be in the kitchen for 3 hours and spend like 50$ on groceries to cook the most complicated special dish. while that might be something for christmas or whatnot, its absolutely unpractical and useless for normal every day life.

My mom don't even bother to cut the onions, she just cooks them with the lentils. When the boiled onions are soft she just remove it, and after the lentils are cooked she just take a small batch of lentils and throw them together inside a food processors creating thickener.

I have an intolerance to meat and allergy to seafood, and was at a loss on what to eat. You have been SUCH a lifesaver for me! I've been trying out all your recipes and they've been so amazing!

Great recipe. Where I am from lentils are typically made with onions, green pepper and tomato as a base. Fry it in olive oil and then blend it. I use half a tomato, 1/4 onion, 1 green pepper and 2 garlic cloves. For veggies its 1 carrot and 1 potato. A spoon of salt, a little paprika and bit less cumin, also a bay leaf. That’s the recipe using a glass of water of lentils (pardinas). Traditionally we use “sweet chorizo” but i like to use vegan chorizo sometimes as its is more flavourful.

Looks amazing! I make a big pot of lentil soup and store frozen servings for quick microwave lunches in the winter. Will try this one this week. I usually add diced avocado and some blue corn chips but will try your options.

my italian mom and I love to add pasta to lentil soup :)

I’d never disrespect nooch but my tip for the umami is miso paste. It just works.

I lost it with the raccoon backdrop!!! 😂 I have been following you for YEARS!  I love how you and your program have developed. You’re so cute and fun to watch. As a vegan of 20 years, I still get tips from you and inspiration! Thank you!

have already made this soup twice!! it’s my fav lentil soup yet

Before I even get into this one I  am loving that apron,😂😂

The suspicious onion is the name of my new band!!

Preserved lemons, coriander and the herbs are sooo good in lentil soup!

Nisha! Your work is incredible. I learn something new with each recipe. I’ve been in the plant based community since 2019, and I’ve seen how your skills have grown in all the ways. Thank you for all you bring to the world!
