I feel like Homer and Marge were a bit too hard on Bart in this episode. Sad that the only person who cares about him so much is Grampa.

The funny part is that in ten years to be a coal taster you'll need two degrees and ten years experience.

The last line in this episode is something I have thought about a lot. All these magazines and books on how to raise a kid. How did people do it before? Okay I am not for spanking or corporal punishment as that has shown to have oposite effects as kids tend to start lying to get out of trouble. But with common sense you go a long way.

when i was abou barts age my parents said same thing to me no matter what i did they never seemed  interested in me only my other 2 brother an said no matter what i did i could never impress them at that age its really hard getting no attention from your parents
