it would add a bit more drama if when the buzz saw made contact with her body if the "assistant" screamed but otherwise a fantastic performance

valiant attempt to pass her off as an ordinary volunteer who doesn't know him (anyone bet they're in the same baby photos?); wonder how many spectators beleived it

Nice, assistant, in acting the part of the volunteer.  The audience obviously bought it, although I definitely think it was brought into doubt by your arm going around his neck while in a hypnotic trance.

I thought she really sold that as being a volunteer, at least if the audience reaction shots were anything to go by. (I'm assuming that they were reacting to that trick and that they weren't just inserts of reactions to another trick).  Would have been nice to see how he selected her and got her back to the audience though.

even if it is not a true volunteer the show is good

I reckon he would not saw anyone in half if a volunteer they asked him to do it??? Who would want to be saw in half???

many people would be in place of this girl

loved it and dam! he has SWAG! LOL
