Just so relaxing to watch a genius at work.

Okay, Glasslinger, the Bakelite radio turned out great!! I love it...
I also love your videos.

That’s called a clutch head screw

The screw head at 1:44 looks like a clutch head screw. They were used on some applications in the mid-1900s, especially for windows. They're pretty much gone these days. They made several different sizes and shapes.

How in Gods name do you find a radio in that mass of spaghetti?

To get the yellow out of the plastic, soak it in hydrogen peroxide then expose it to sunlight

Looks like you're all back to the 20th century again. I still have in mind about the 2009 online video game I used to play called: Doors. This video game definitely showed an old-timer radio that still works.  ▶️ ⏯️ ▶️

One of the few tube radios with the dial on the left side.
The Brand Arvin is readable on the removed dial face.

I've never seen a radio where the variable tuning capacitors are isolated from GND.Very strange. Propably due to the use of a loop antenna witch is obviously "floating ".

Ron, I thought I’d sit down and watch one of your videos rather than tear my hair out over a valve (tube) car radio I’m working on with no signal at all and no bias on the IF amp. Then you pulled that 50L6 and I realised I’d been a muppet. The IF valve had the same problem- swapped it with the RF amp and suddenly had bias. Of course, despite all my hoarding I don’t have a spare W77, but that’s that’s just how it goes! Thanks for all the videos.

I've been in love with old radios since I was a little kid all I had was a chassie of a radio no cabinet I'd play with that for hours I could get Germany Japan I couldn't even count the number of stations I'd get on a cloudy night

Wspaniale reperacje Wspanialy RON Jego zlote rence  + CAT  🐱 🙂🙃🙂

Back in the early 1960s, I was presented with something like this but having broken the wires on the Octal tubes which were corroded, I kept only the heater transformer because at that time all I wanted was a charger for my 2V lead-acid accumulator. What a pity, perhaps?

The only tranformers were mains and speaker so one side of chassis would be connected to the mains and potentially live. I did not notice a 60Hz transformer in your presentation. Is the set series heater, perhaps? If so, as you will know, chassis will be connected to one side of the mains. In the US, at 120V, you have a better chance of survival but here in l'il olde England with our 240V supply, in such sutuations, an isolating transformer is essential unless we are standing on a rubber mat and touch absolutely nothing else!!!
Ceramic and mica caps are usually OK but waxed paper invariably leak and electrolytics dry up. At a guess, I would think your set is nearer 80 than 70 years and operating well past the 'sell-by' date so 'hats off', to you, sir!
Keep up the good work!

Incredible moments,I have seen first time about valve radio, even I am also expert in chiplevel repairing sir…nice

That’s a pretty lil radio😍😎

After sandblasting you now don’t know where the Tubes go! 😎
