Love this channel.  The only problem is I always feel hungry after watching it.  😂😂😂

I love how he treats every fish as if you never seen a fish being filleted. That’s how you teach!!!

I can absolutely appreciate how you waste no part of the fish. Respect.

I'm an oldtimer and just have to Comment on this.  Back around 1970, a high-speed deep sea fishing party boat fishing far offshore in the eastern Gulf of Mexico on a 6 AM all-day trip caught one of these that weighed over 70 pounds.  It made the local TV News because everyone thought that they had caught a HUGE Mangrove Snapper of record proportions.  No one had ever seen a Cubera Snapper at that time in our region.

I am fortunate enough to live in the same town where the fish store is. I lived in the area for about 40 years and I’ve been going to the same fish store essentially my whole life not knowing that read was even closer to my house than my usual fish store. I met Reed and spoke to him for about 10 minutes. Introduced me to his brother. He made me feel like I’ve been coming there forever even though it was my first time I ordered some fresh fish. It was incredible but the stand out was the fish dip which actually has chunks of fish in it not the usual heavy mayonnaise and other fillers. It was incredible, but in my opinion, the mom‘s ceviche was the best I’ve ever had and I’m not exaggerating. I think that it was tile fish and it wasn’t the usual lemon lime flavor. I think they might’ve used orange juice, but it was incredible so fresh and delicious it. It’s now my go to place. I highly recommend if you live in the area give them a try. You definitely won’t be disappointed.

Hi brother, I have been working in this field for 5 years in Carrefour and I work 70% of your explanation but I have benefited from you a lot. You are very professional and appreciate that technique. Thank you very much.

I love the show so much but what I really love is how clean the kitchen is.

I was on a head boat once off of NC and another angler hooked a 70 lb class Cubara. This fish was a monster ; A MONSTER! I forget how long it took to land this thing but a lot of us had to pull up because he ran time after time. It was a 60yo lady who caught him, she was all of 100 lbs but an experienced angler and damn if she didn't win the biggest fish of the boat prize. A magnificent fish.

I’d love to see you go through the trim pile. How you save every little bit of meat and make fun things like broth and dip!

Thank you for training us the proper way to fillet fish. I have been getting a better yield from my catch. Truly appreciate it. Have a fantastic and blessed everyday

Seems like you’re hyper sensitive to the meat police lately. You do what you do. Ignore the haters. Don’t talk smack unless you’re the one with the fillet knife in your hand. You make it look easy but it’s not. Keep up the good work sir!

I've watched many videos on how to fillet a fish, and if you know how to fillet one, you have a good idea to do any other fish, but each one is a little different too, and I keep watching these videos because they're so educational.

I start my Saturday watching Reed cut up a 60# snapper, then finish the day trying to catch a 3# catfish for dinner :)

I’m landlocked - seafood is extremely expensive - but it’s really cool watching a professional fish monger tackle monster fish, and how to use it all.

A SNAPPER???  Jeez!  I've seen big groupers, but never a snapper that large.  Gorgeous creature.  You could absolutely have a (loosely authentic) Hawaiian pescatarian Luau with one of those!
Quick tip:  myoglobin is typically pronounced "my-oh-GLOBE-in".

When I went to St. Thomas on vacation, we did a snuba excursion.   I had no idea what these were and as soon as I got in the water, I saw a huge one.  This fish would follow the guide around like a puppy dog.  It was huge and had teeth like fangs as you see in this video.  I was extremely lucky to experience one of these in the wild.

Great work done love your attitude to not waste any meaningful part of the meat.

Question..Hey Reed, can you show us all your knives and other gear - spec uses and how and when you sharpen would be interesting.

I think it is awesome how much time and effort you put into using as much of the fish as possible.
