I'm 2 years late, but tp be honest, I think very often its not even "getting too old", that has people retire from extreme sports. Its the mindset of 'its too risky and my body cant handle it' when it really CAN, well into their 40s, 50, to 60 and even older. When youve done an extremely taxing sport your whole life, your body adapts. My ballet teacher is 85. She still stretches, wears 5 inch heels and her legs look like those of a 56 year old.
And for all I can tell, you WON the genetic lottery
