“We made a promise to ourselves at the beginning of the process that we weren’t going to put any of our own politics, our own messages or our own themes into these movies. In a way, we we’re trying to make these films for him (Tolkien) not for ourselves.” – Peter Jackson

If the Lord Of The Rings trilogy wasn’t a success, that would have been the end of New Line Cinema. It was probably the last time a studio took a huge risk like that.

'The Elvan council are essentially NATO, they'll give them the gear but not get involved'...

... This is the caliber of comedy I come for.

I was 5 years old and was in and out of the hospital.  I was released for a short time before I was diagnosed with child hood leukemia and I was annoying my mother so she tossed me a book with all these ruins on it and I was fascinated.  It had a map with a place called Lonely Mountain on it and a dragon.   It was the Hobbit.  From that day and through college and beyond I was a fan of Tolkien.  I even wrote research papers on him and his works.  When I heard of The Fellowship of The Ring coming out when I was a junior in college I was just thrilled.  I had always dreamed of it being given a large movie of the Trilogy.  So Tolkien's works have more meaning to me then just a franchise.  His works inspired me and partly got me through all my treatments and to work hard to get into college and get my degrees.  (Star Wars also came out when I was going through chemotherapy. )  Its just sad what they are doing with both of these works.

So glad Voxis got an invitation to Happy Hour. He's been through a lot and has persevered. This says a lot about Drinker, that he sends the lift down to help out fellow creatives who could use a boost. On top of all that, a fab conversation.

It's about friendship... And good cardio 😂.

Prof Tosspot is the wittiest in the game

the scene where Boromir dies gets me every time, I always tear up - it's such a tragedy and such great story telling.

I like Voxis; very funny and looks like Mr. Moneybags from Monopoly.

The Drinker's massive grin as soon as the Blessed Pipeman starts talking is a powerful phenomenom indeed. My crops are watered, my skin is spotless and all is right with the world.

this voxis guy knows what's up, based as hell. Drinker keeps introducing me to great new people to follow.

I love the Boromir character and the way he redeems himself and the next two movies give you context of why he was so desperate for any edge over Sauron’s army and how his father has put so much pressure on him to bring back the ring that he’s not thinking logically.

The drinker and professor toss-pot! I am soooooo happy!

Funny, I asked Drinker for this meeting just a couple of weeks ago. He said the Prof was a bit difficult to contact so I'm glad he managed it.
Cheers Drinker and Voxis!

Voxis is awesome! If possible he should be on the stream more often.

When Bilbo finally drops the ring into the floor, it lands flat with a deep thud...very unnatural. It underscores how weighty and evil it really is. That part really stood out to me.

Amazon's LOTR references diversity so often that you'd swear Justin Trudeau was the executive producer.
