That guy was more than just a random hiker - he was basically a forensic archaeologist. They couldn't have hoped for a better person to find human remains.

I can appreciate that the police actually listened to the hiker and his speculation because of his experience and not just brush him off

Never go hiking alone, if you do go alone never go without telling someone where you're going and when you will be back.

That hiker did half the investigation lmao

Her daughter was really, doing her best to locate her mother.
Glad she finally has an answer.

Respect to the daughter who was so proactive and persistent in search for her Mom.

"We think it's too dangerous to access on foot."
"How the hell do you think I got here?!"

The gentleman hiker should be  hired as a search and rescue operator.  He's got his stuff together.

In April 2026 I climbed a trail to the top of a waterfall in my area and accidentally slipped off the side of the trail falling 40 feet down. I broke my femer, hip, and fractured a small part of my spine. I had extreme hypothermia and was fighting to survive for 18 hours over night until I was found. I can imagine how hopeless she must have felt and then to never be found is heartbreaking. Thankful my story didn't end up this way. Sending love to the family

"You know there's small animals too right?" Smart ass cop haha

The young woman on the phone lost her father, her grandmother and her mother within a span of four months. I'm heartbroken for her.

Without that caring hiker, maybe a daughter wouldn't have ever got closure, especially losing your mum, grandma and dad/stepdad within a year, she's showing strength 🙏

Poor Amber. To lose your husband and mother within months of each other must have been horrible. Rest in Peace.🕊️ My condolences to her daughter.

"doubt she could have gotten there"

Never underestimate how far someone is able to get to.

that hiker is a hero, his journey to get help allowed her family to get closer

She really did a great job trying to make that little camp, especially if she had been disabled.

The one deputy nailing it all on the head and the other idiots just basically shrugging him off annoyed me😭

How many people are just out in the woods waiting for someone to stumble on them? You gotta feel for the families of missing people.

The police department should hire this hiker as a detective.

As a dispatcher who handles lost people all of the time, I wanna just point out how that caller was so patient and clear about where he was at and what he was seeing. Most of the time, it’s just “can’t you just see where I’m at???” But this caller was so patient. What a fantastic man
