Oh the famous architect who put a giant magnifying glass in London that blinded people.

Those are the reasons why I didn't buy a condo in 432... a lack of $70 million to spend was also a factor.

The fact that they didn't make it 432 metres tall is awfully annoying

@robertschneck8583 11 months ago

It must be a problem when everyone on both sides can afford whole teams of lawyers.

The fact the architect took inspiration from a trash can is mind boggling

That design is what all kids 5 years old draw when they are asked to draw a skyscraper in school

As a firefighter, I hate this thing. At a certain point, you cannot possibly expect an optimal recovery.

so they put billionaires in a super tall trash can in the middle of Manhattan and now these billionaires are complaining about the reality of living in an abnormally tall trash can?

"against the grain" is a funny way to put it when the walkie talkie melted cars below

We finally have buildings that shake without earthquakes.

An easy way to think about the width to height ratio is stacking 15 equal sized dice on top of one another. Hard to do.

Using 432 model as a backscratcher gives me life 😂😂 we all could use one

The fact that some residents didn't want to file the lawsuit because it would hurt their property values is just atrocious. "Yeah this building is very dangerous and potentially highly unstable, but we can't hold people accountable for making this mess because I want to pass the problem off to someone else and your lawsuit will make me make less money when doing that".

I used to be a contractor who worked in this building, as well as a few of the other super tall buildings on 57th st. My biggest issue was that the small footprint and extreme height puts massive constraints on the elevator capacity. So I would often have to wait 45 minutes for the service elevator, only for it to fill up so fast, that I wouldn't be able to get on and I would be stuck waiting even longer. I've always referred to this building (and the others like it) as the dark tower(s), since you almost can't see them at night. They're almost entirely full of tertiary investment properties that nobody spends any time in.

Imagine spending 70 million dollars on an apartment to call your home, and all you get is motion sickness, the sound of constant howling, tubs that spill water due to wind and trash shutes that sounds like a war zone.
Those poor billionaires. /s

I wish you had mentioned that a lot of the condos in 432 are empty and were never used because many bought them solely for investment purposes and had never lived in them
