One should not go into caves alone

I love this story! Listening to the channel in Berlin, Germany, and thinking about the caves, underground tunnels and  bunkers we have explored. This story ends so beautifully,  not leaving with fear but making me think how the mysterious creatures should be treated with respect 😍😍😍

I've always loved caves. Not wriggling crawling that stuff. Just being in there.

I know the majority of the Appalachian dossiers are creepy pastas hence why I’m here but I fucking love the way this is set up as a wonderfully told story, like my own dad is sitting me down for a bed time story

It was a great story it's worth an hour of your time.

NE Iowa listened off and on throughout the day. Worth listening to. There are things that are older than us. Everything has an essence, a vibration, an aura. I can't imagine what he observed. But by sitting still, no words were necessary. The entity observed him, just as he observed it. Beautiful and sad.

I am curious... when im trying to hone in on something i hear, i hold my breath. Does anyone else?

Was a caver for nearly 30 years, always felt more comfortable underground than above. Was involved in mapping surveys and also cave rescue.

Ok. You've requested scary stories we've survived. During the fall of 1981, I hunted mule deer with two friends. We were USAF Security Policemen, accustomed to working with weapons our person. I carried a Silva Huntsman compass and a topographic map, my .308 bolt action deer rifle with a 6x9 scope plus my .357 magnum revolver for back up. my friend's  carried high powered rifles. We wore our "web belts" from duty so we could carry our canteens. Each of us had our skinning knives, and my friends had binoculars as well.
After scouting a Southwest facing slope one morning we trudged back toward camp, not following our trail but cutting across the terrain in a straight azimuth ending at our camp. We moved quietly in case of surprising a deer. After a water break we murmured to one another about the beauty of the Jemez mountains. While my friend from Stone Mountain GA described the beauty of the Southern Appalachians, he stopped mid sentence and froze. I froze at the same instant, so did our friend from WI. We 3 were overcome with two emotions, dread and deep hate! I remember to this day asking, "Do you feel that?" My friend's both muttered something like, "Let's GTFO of here!" We ran uphill for just under 100 yards. Once we'd cleared the Quaking Aspen trees we regained a sense of peaceful calm. I'm sure we discussed our experience while rehydrating our lunches but I don't remember what we said. We left that afternoon, returning to Kirtland Air Force Base where we all lived and worked. Because we secured Priority A resources, we didn't share what happened with our coworkers. Our decision to avoid that patch of the Jemez Mountains was unspoken but unanimous. Later in the season we camped again in the Jemez Mountains but we chose a site with 2 hills between us and that Aspen grove.
I've never felt anything so threatening before or since. It was NOT fun. It overshadowed our hunting trip which should have been a fun 3 day weekend for us. I didn't note the location of that copse of Aspens on my map. I had forgotten about the incident until you asked for stories. The weight of this event stems from 3 armed professionals RUNNING uphill in broad daylight because they "felt" threatened by something/someone we didn't see or hear. That something wanted us gone or dead, I felt. I never want to feel that again.

Very professional, clear, and provocative.

I’m from Indiana, but I live in Texas. My dad was from Virginia Shenandoah Valley. He talks about this. They’re up there too up there in the mountains those caves he always said you never went in because you might not come out and he also said respect. what’s there don’t bother it they’re all through the United States more in the mountains in anywhere and this is such a great information you provided us. Not only did I 49:28 49:28 hear it from my dad, but I heard it from you.Thank you ❤

All the way from South Africa 🎉

I believe it, there things everywhere that we should not question, just except and move on. Love your stories ❤️ ♥️ 💕

One cannot know what one has not experience…

Great story. There is so much we dont know. Realizing, observing and learning of different things, I believe will be continuous.
