Not alot of people know this, but Brendan Fraser actually was hanging during this scene and almost died in real life. The rope ended up being too tight when they did this scene and he literally passed out from being choked. Luckily the producers realized he was actually choking just in the nick of time and they cut the rope to save him.

He slammed a heroic shot of Jack Daniel’s, snorted a line, looked the crew dead in the eye and said, “Fuck it. Roll camera.” Cinema used to mean something.
