Anyone who sets foot on a Brazilian beach for the first time discovers that the math doesn't add up: here, the beach comes to you.
A tourist who wrote down how much a whole day in Ipanema cost. A Dutch woman drinking coconut water for the first time in her life. An Irishman showing everything he bought without leaving his chair.
Japanese people discovering mate tea with Globo biscuits. A German woman who misspelled a word just to order corn. A foreigner enchanted by the cassava in Porto de Galinhas. A Portuguese man who became a corn vendor for an afternoon. And the encounter that no foreigner expects to have on a beach: a candy vendor who speaks their language.
Did you know? Since 2012, the mate and tapioca biscuit vendors on Rio's beaches have been part of the city's cultural heritage. And the most Carioca biscuit that exists was created by two brothers from Sรฃo Paulo, in 1955, in a bakery called Globo.
Why do you think foreigners fall in love with Brazilian beaches?
