BEATPELLA HOUSE is back on the channel today with their unique style, and they are doing their K-pop Medley of songs, some of which we know well. Coach did a pretty decent job identifying most of the ones we had heard before. Let us know what you think about this group and their style. We find it fascinating what they are doing.

The sounds are 100% them - no looping, backing tracks, or instruments. But like all produced songs, there is the standard studio polish such as EQ, compression, and reverb for example to enhance the listening experience (esp on headphones!). However, they do not alter sounds such that it cannot be replicated live - meaning Hiss REALLY is that amazing at the mouth trumpet, and Huckle's sub-bass really is that craaaaazy deep!
Much of beatboxing is focused on the battle/competition scene (where everything is live onstage), so beatboxers would lose all credibility if they couldn't perform their routines live. These guys perform live all the time, and you'd be absolutely flabbergasted.
As you become more familiar with beatboxing, you'll notice that each beatboxer has their own specific style, sound kit, and specialties, and no two beatboxers are alike. What makes Beatpella special is that they've formed a supergroup where each of their specialities complement one another to perfection. Add in Yella's stellar vocals, and it's truly magic.
β’ LE SSERAFIM released a cover yesterday called "AMOR PROHIBIDO" originally done by our late Tejano Queen SELENA. I was surprised but completely impressed by their Spanish
Quoting their producer/manager, he said something like "The way for us to perform is simple, with just a mouth. But for the sound to reach people, we need advanced technology."
There is no added effect on the mic, other than the simple one like reverb. They do use mixing and mastering to ensure the sound is portrayed in the best way. But not anything that alter the sound itself.
What Wing was doing when singing "Maniac" was a technique called 'throat bass'. It's very similar to a known traditional singing technique called 'Mongolian throat singing'.
For next one I'd definitely suggest the collaboration with Le Sserafim since you mentioned it;
Beatpella House, Le Sserafim - "Easy, Crazy, Hot (Beatbox Remix)". It's a medley of the 3 Le Sserafim songs. This video is the one that got me into Le Sserafim and K-Pop.
Oh by the way, the Beatpella House fanbase are called 'Housemates'! π‘
Anyway, keep going!
