Elizabeth Rose Bloodflame spoke briefly on this in her recent stream.  Her first one-on-one vocal lessons were classical (yes, opera), which she says helped train her with so many genres in her life.  She has had quite a bit of vocal training, and with everything in a language that is not her own, she learns the meaning behind the words she is singing.  Because, she is a performer first and foremost.  "She said she is NOT a jazz singer."  She is a singer.

With this song, she had all the Latin written out and pronounced by a teacher that spoke Latin, so that she would know what she was doing.  Everything in her performance is done with meaning behind it.

Elizabeth loves to sing.  She loves to perform and has done quite a bit of live performance and singing in her life, as well as singing in choirs and various other things.  She's completely a professional singer and simply loves to do this and that's why she is in Hololive and just having fun with her vocal prowess. (On a side note: she is an amazing impressionist and can copy 100's if not thousands of different voices.)

She has tackled jazz, standards, musical theatre, pop, rock, alternative, country, Irish tunes, and just about everything in her life.  She has amazing vocal control and uses her diaphragm amazingly well.  She knows what she is doing and I hope more can listen to her perform.

Thank you, for going over this song.  It's a real ear worm for me.

The rapper is Calliope Mori so the other is Elizabeth Rose Bloodflame

Elizabeth known as Liz or ERB is an amazing singer, she does a lot of different style of music, always doing some karaoke all sorts of things.
She's also an amazing imitator and voice actress, often imitating her fellow Hololive mmembers while of live chat.
She's definetely one to look out for.

Calliope Mori known as Calli, is a long time rapper, since joining Hololive she expended more into other style of music with her voice teacher. But she is at the core a rapper/song writer.

A lot has been said here about Elizabeth Rose Bloodflame, but Mori Calliope is very talented in her own right, both as a performer and a lyricist. She composes practically all of her songs (I've lost track of how many albums she's released), and her ability to spit out a huge volume of words rhythmically is mind-blowing.

"End Of A Life" is one song I highly recommend. She actually sings in this title track, and it's a very personal song that reveals her feelings about where she is and who she's become since joining Hololive.

Im glad ERB has been shakin up a ruckus with this cover shes an amazing talent and its always a treat listening to her havin fun on the mic

ERB, Mori and Suisei are from the same vtuber group - Hololive

Thanks for the reaction! Elizabeth is one of my favorite singers, so it's been great seeing so many people learn about her from this cover.
Her typical singing styles are more jazzy or show tunes oriented (to clarify, she doesn't claim any specific label for what genre of singer she is. I'm just referring to a few of her most notable vocal techniques and choices. Lots of growls, ad-libs, big belts, and voice acting.) However, she loves all kinds of music, and one of my favorite things about her is how fearless she is about trying new genres. Newcomers in her karaoke livestream chat always end up getting emotional whiplash from her making us cry with a heavy power ballad one moment, then switching to some silly novelty song and somehow making it sound equally as good.
If you're interested in hearing more of her, my recs are her covers of Fly-day Chinatown, Fallen Angel, and Giri Giri.

Elisabeth Rose Bloodflame -(aka ERB,Liz) - Vtuber from Hololive En Branch from 4th Gen "Justice". Known for her incredible singing, voice impressions and in the community call her " Skinwalker " sometimes. As other vocal coach Tim Welch described her "Vocal Shapeshifter",so she definitely worth checking out.

Elizabeth has a huge range. She is an incredibly versatile singer. I haven't really heard much of an operatic sound from her before this but she's done all kinds of genres before. She really knows how to use that voice lol

Elizabeth Rose Bloodflame is the one doing the Opera, she is on the right. Funny enough she is a Jazz trained singer who had some schooling on musical theater. She didn't have opera training though I suspect being this was an officially licensed cover from the anime production company, she may have received some Opera training/practice before performing this. She is a massive musical talent in a ton of ways.

The song itself, the reason for the rap and opera is because the song is expressing the clash of ideologies between the heroes and villains of the show. With rap and opera clearly being 2 things that shouldn't go together and the end of the song is the 2 of them trying to overpower each other. It's honestly such an incredible piece and the fact it works so well is mind blowing.

Glad you liked it!

This is going to be good

Liz is definitely one of the most powerful vocalists we have in Hololive, she puts her whole soul into her singing and you can FEEL it
Calli has been rapping for so long now it's kinda taken for granted, but she has some serious skill in her field too. she's released so many albums i cant even remember them all, and she writes pretty much all her own lyrics for each and every one of them too!
these two together are an absolutely stellar pair, i do believe i can say with confidence that this is one of the best cover songs i have ever heard in my life. hands down. they're the PERFECT match to sing this song

the song itself is a battle of words, with the Requiem Opera singer (Elizabeth) speaking down on humanity, talking as a higher being of unlimited power while the Rapping (Calli) is the voice of Humanity, the ones fighting to free themselves and choose their own fate. as the song goes on the rapping gets louder and louder until it breaks past the Requiem and becomes the sole focus, the driving beat of humanity's heart chanting proudly that we wont go down without a fight.

ROW ROW, FIGHT THE POWER!!!

Both of these have been in the game for a long time in their past lives and their experience shows.  Liz has incredible versatility and it's a treat to hear her pop out this sort of opera performance, I've been hoping she'd do another since her, Nerissa and Ironmouse performed two songs from Expedition 33 together (which shows such a beautiful contrast between Ironmouse's coloratura and Liz's mezzo ranges).   You'll often find Liz in a more lounge-singer style, very jazzy, playing around with songs when singing live whilst engaging with the audience.  Her live karaoke of Skyfall is incredible, for a song she didn't know very well.   She has incredible power and control but the versatility to use it.

ERB and Cali are both insanely talented in their own rights. If you are interested in Liz's vocal her karaoke stuff might be up your alley.

another professional to glaze ERB? count me in

The opera half of the song are part of the antagonist group of the first half of the anime and supposed to feel inevitable and unstoppable… the growl is a interesting way I think Liz chose to show the underlying fears of the faction,, the animalistic danger avoidance and fear reactions, even as she’s trying to sound ethereal and timeless the sound of a cornered animal slips in

내가 탄성을 질렀던 구간에서 정확히 당신도 탄성을 지르는군요 😂
그녀들은 정말 엄청난 아티스트들입니다

If ya wanna actually check out more opera mixed in with "modern" music, I have one example from when I was a teenager in the late 90s, I think like '97 - '98 somewhere, a song that was on the radio a lot in Norway. Warren G and Sissel - Prince Igor.
It's a rap song with opera in it, sung by a Norwegian soprano, Sissel Kyrkjebø, I remember hearing it so much back then. I think it's based around some Russian opera or somesuch, I honestly don't know a whole lot about that sorta stuff.

As for Mori and ERB's song, Mori Calliope is the rapper, though she can sing in most genres, as she's a pretty good vocalist as well.
ERB, I think has classical training, but to her annoyance, as she's done a lot of jazz and lounge songs, she gets called a jazz singer. :P
But she's a true vocal chameleon, she can sing in most genres wanted of her, and has even been in a song with ironmouse at one point, along with another member of the company that Mori and ERB come from, Nerissa Ravencroft, who is another operatic style singer, but her background is more choral.
But I say true vocal chameleon, as she's also a voice actress, and can impersonate the voices of others quite well, which almost seem to translate into her singing.

Lizz make the song with more her characters in it and make it beautiful

Elizabeth kind of does most of everything, or at the very least, isn't afraid of trying different genre's. She just likes singing and doesn't limit to a genre. When I was first introduced to her, I thought that she was a jazz singer that finally got her big break. And then I hear her covering jpop, opera, rock, folk, and pretty much everything except modern country (for now).

A good one to check out might be her cover of Fallen Angel.
