The cross was put there in memory of John O' Sullivan from Castlegregory who was an Anti Treaty soldier and was killed there on the 2 of August 1922 after the Free State troops landed in Fenit. Thanks for posting these videos, it is great to know some of the history of the Town of Tralee and surrounding Areas as a lot of it is lost with time.
Mike, hello from Liverpool. Wonderful video. My parents came from Tralee and I spent many summers as a child there and often get back to Kerry through work. Thanks for taking the time and effort to film and produce this, it brought back many happy memories.
Greetings from the USA ! A dear friend in Tralee forwarded me your video. As one who visited Tralee on many an occasion, I very much enjoyed your stories of childhood in Tralee. God bless you all in Tralee, all in Kerry, all in Ireland, hope to be back soon !
Really enjoyed this, thankyou. My maternal Grandfather and his family were all from the area, I was due to visit before the lockdown and I am hopeful to visit soon. x
