Shout out to Judge Stacie Smith. She said she went to law school “specifically to come back here for my people.” That’s beautiful and powerful. These Native women are strong. My heart goes out to Native American people struggling with these sexual assault issues, poverty, and lack of resources. It’s so unfair.

Everything runs thin on a reservation, we as Natives must start working together to save our children, and their future.

That lawyer lady who returned to the tribe to help victims is a true heroes

The policewoman and the other women doing this work for their community are real fighters.  God Bless You All.

I was molested by my uncle when I was young 6-9. I finally reported at age 15. He got 18 months in jail. I had to face him before I reported and after as my grandmother never believed me or his other victims. I agree it takes strength. A great deal of strength to face them and not lose yourself in your hate of that person. Stay strong. Keep working to change the world. If you won’t who will.

There are a lot of women from every background who needs a strong voice like hers.  Thank you for what you do for victim.

This is one strong woman!!!

I THINK THAT ANY MAN OR WOMAN WHO HURTS A CHILD IN THIS WAY SHOULD BE REMOVED FROM THE FACE OF EARTH!!!!! SICK SAD WHY? To hell  on those who allow this and do nothing!!!! TRUST NO ONE!!!

The women need to continue to fight...is it the tribal men who take this all so lightly ?  Sad sad sad.

That policewoman is a true inspiration. 💞

She's right, there is no other feeling than someone taking you in and giving you all you never had, care, nurture, comfort, stability, love, safety, and not worrying about what's next for you.

were are men in this fight, there are only women....this is the problem!!

This is sooooo disturbing. Sending love to our native sisters. 😪

This is a real eye opener compared to what is being told in the main everyday media. Thanks for sharing this.

Yeah. I don't think, or rather, its obvious that NO ONE (within the judicial system) cares to consider what a child was forced to endure or how a childs life, from the moment AN ADULT makes a child a victim, is impacted FOR LIFE. When suspects basically get a "time out" for things they've done to innocent CHILDREN, there's something seriously wrong with "the system". And there must be no such thing as an advocate for children. When an adult who does a crime against a child & that adult basically just gets a slap on the wrist, that child is learning they are worthless. How fucked up is that?!

Brought tears to my eyes! Such brave women, we need more of them in this world!! 🙏🏻🙏🏻

These women are so strong. They are not different from anyone else. They deserve justice just like any other American.

1 year is the maximum sentence?!! So basically there are no rules on the reservations. Rape and sexual trauma cause some of the worst outcomes later in life. It can ruin a persons life. And it usually does. Where is the justice

Race should  never ever be an  issue for  any crime.

God bless these women who are a light for women of all races ..thank you...( me too)
