I expected something “new” - turns out I am already a CarPlay expert. Unfortunately there wasn’t anything helpful in this video for me. But your content was spot on accurate

A really useful way to use the widget feature is to put a widget in there that lets you switch on the lights in your house when you arrive home, or off, when you leave. I use the Apple Home kit and I can switch on and off the lights under my carport and in my home, all from my car.

You missed the fact that you can still bring up Siri by just saying "HEY SIRI"

I just got a new car with CarPlay and this was extremely helpful. Thank you.

BRO. I had no idea that I could remove and reorder my apps in carplay! Drives me crazy when I had to swipe all over to get to my maps, podcasts and audible. I fixed this for both my Jeep and my work truck. THANK YOU!

You missed my favorite CarPlay tip! During navigation with full guidance on, tap the square with the turn by turn directions to keep the on screen guidance but mute the turn by turn voice (alerts stay on). Tap again to restore the sound. Much easier than messing around with the buttons. This feature disappeared for a while but came back with iOS 17. It's nice when you don't need directions for the first part of a journey but want to turn them back on for the last bit.

So calm and understandable. You should be an example for YouTubers. I feel thoroughly taught in so many areas. And you have opened my eyes to selections and options I'd never have found myself. Very cool.

Love your videos you explain everything very clearly and don’t go too fast 👍

Did you know you can swipe down from the top of the screen to show even more controls like: brightness, turn screen off, focus modes and more.

The right/left differences in the position of certain controls on the CarPlay screen is a function of left/right driving. Here in the US most of those controls appear on the left side to be closest to the driver. In your UK those are on the right to be closest to you while driving.

Just got CarPlay for my car and this is really useful. You have a great, clear ,concise delivery which makes you easy to follow. I'm going to save this video so I can refer back to it and use it as a reference tool. Thanks so much.

I’ve been using CarPlay for years but just for all the music on my iPhone, and for text messages. My car already has a built in GPS. I just switched to an unlimited data plan so I decided to try Apple Maps. Wow so much better than my car’s GPS! But I was unaware of all the features that are available. Thanks for this great information! I also didn’t know how much control of CarPlay was available through my iPhone. I just always used the default that popped up on my screen. This video was one of the most useful learning experiences ever for me!

I own a 2021 vehicle that comes with wired CarPlay only. The phone had to be connected to a specific USB port that is located inside the console. I found that so inconvenient, that I really didn't use CarPlay at all. However, I recently bought a wireless Bluetooth adapter specifically for making wired CarPlay work wirelessly. This little gizmo has worked almost perfectly with my iPhone 14 Pro Max (iOS 26.1). After the initial setup (pairing via Bluetooth), I just get in the vehicle with the phone on my person or in my bag. CarPlay pops right up on my vehicle's display. So now that CarPlay is effortless to use, I came here to learn more about it! Thanks for the video.

Is there a setting for CarPlay, when dictating a message, that makes Siri wait until you’ve finished what you need to say? It’s really annoying when dictating a message, to take a slight pause and then Siri thinks you’ve finished and reads back an incomplete message. You then have to press change and start again. There must be plenty of other people who have experienced this problem.

This was very helpful. ( Thank You ) All my prior vehicles did not have this much technology but my new car does and I honestly felt like a fish out of water with it all. This video is quite expansive with knowledge and I applaud people who make videos like this! 👏 Genuinely appreciate this video and your efforts that went into this😁
