The last night of fourteen was spent on the bank of the Kunene, inside Iona National Park, at a campsite that is hard to describe without sounding like an advert.
Getting there is the point. Episode three goes into the middle of Iona — fifteen thousand square kilometres of Angolan desert, the northern reach of the Namib, co-managed by African Parks with the Angolan government since 2020. Almost nobody drives it. There is a mountain crossing inside the park that is the hardest work of the whole fortnight, a night at Gruta do Leão — the Lion's Cave — and more wildlife than a desert this dry has any business holding.
And there is the part that is not about vehicles at all. The convoy was welcomed by the community that lives alongside the park, and the park's community manager walked the crew through how conservation here actually works — what the park and the people around it each put in, and what each gets back. It is the most interesting fifteen minutes of the series, and none of it involves a low-range lever.
Then the river, and the last camp. Watch it and tell us we are wrong.
That is the line. Skeleton Coast to Iona, fourteen days, three countries, eight rigs, everyone home.
