Great video thanks!

I've come to believe the MUCH larger 12 gauge pump with slugs does quite well for protection from bears.  Not for hunting, mind you.

Have custom built lefty Sako AV in 375 ruger. Just picked it up this past winter haven’t had a chance to hunt with it yet

Cartridges don't fail, bullets do. The cartridge is only the launching pad.

What are the best ,375HH bullet designs for North American bears which sees you as their prey (it's attacking you, close range!)?

I wear my S&W500 on my chest at all times even when I'm sleeping or pooping:
It is always there when I need it !!

Teddy Roosevelt and I are still firmly in the 405 Winchester camp!

I have enuf 338 win mags,

So I got two 416 s pre muzzle brake kraze,

William Noody of Carthage , New York

Custom makes 250 grain 416 bullets,

So careful hands could match the old 38-55.
On up to 2900 + fps...

He makes a 350 grain soft lead to be at 1400 fps ,

That makes a 475 linebough,

So if some one wanted to save a lot of money they could load 160 grain bullets for the 338 federal in that 338 wm, up to 250 grains,

And use the 250 grain 416 on up to the 400 grain elephant/ Kandahar giant droppers.

As to your smaller stuff problems..

A 480 Ruger 2.5 Alaskan is at the top of the pocket gun list for me.

338 and my 375 Always for the big ones. I know my other calibers will do fine but I owe it to myself and my quarry to get it done on the first shot if possible.

338 win mag will do a great job 416 rem hard to beet the 375 rum is a good one hard to find ammo but if you got one it’s a thumper

The Remington 8 mm magnum will take everything in North America. The cartridge is a 375 H&H Magnum straightened out and then necked down to 8 mm. It is a flat shooting hard hitting cartridge. I shot through an elk at 500 yards making an exit wound the size of a softball

What about the 7mm.... you forgot about it... its a hard hitting bullet as well

Have one that I inherited a Winchester model 70 and have yet to hunt any thing with it

35 whelen

I carry a 300 RUM ... The best of all worlds!

I sure like mine....

It only takes one occurance to justify carrying a .375 HH exclusively,in bear country

When the 30.06 first came out it went to Africa and killed every single animal there, Teddy Roosevelt, took it to Africa, killed a rhino, Ernest Hemingway did the same thing killed a rhino, so the 30.06 is all you need to kill anything on the planet, I knew it was a bear guiding rifle in Alaska
And the cartridge doesn’t beat you to death

I live is Africa and you have all and have all you facts wrong!!!

A good heavy bullet in 30.06 will cleanly take any critter on this planet- provided your aim is true👍🏻
